Have you ever tried to go a full minute just focusing on one thing? Whether it's the way your stomach goes up and down as you breath or a mantra, it can be freakin' hard! Our minds are conditioned to be distracted just as our minds are also conditioned to be worried.
I work with a lot of meditation newbies who are smart, driven, and successful people but have lost complete control of their mind. It's like there's someone sitting behind the scenes telling them that there's something wrong, there's something else to do, they just gotta go go go! There's a part of them that is still in survival mode and it won't let them relax. The mind is so good at trying to convince you that something is wrong when actually everything is fine.
This is why many people are so unhappy. I've worked with people who have every luxury you could think of, yet they were still unhappy. And it's not because of the stuff, money is not the root of evil. People are unhappy because they haven't been taught another way.
So, let's try a little experiment. I want you to allow yourself to relax. And I mean really relax, not the "OK, I'll relax for the next few minutes and then I have to go do A, B, C, and D." That's not real relaxation. I want you find a time, anywhere between 10-20 minutes and I want you to not think about anything except what's actually happening right now. As you do this, the next step is to start telling yourself that everything is perfect. No matter whats going on, let it be perfect.
The proof of the perfection of the universe is all around us. The perfection of how our atmosphere perfectly supports and protects life, the perfection of our physical laws that allow us to send rockets to the moon and put satellites in orbit. That same perfection is working in your life. When we relax into it, we allow it to take us further than we could by ourselves. Your life is perfect, even when you don't understand what's going on.
For example, if you're single but desiring a soulmate, maybe it's perfect that you're single right now. Maybe it's allowing you to connect with people you would have never otherwise connected with. Maybe it's allowing you to grow into the person that you are destined to become. Maybe you're going to change so much in the coming months that the person you want now is not who you'll want then.
If you're not where you want to be in your career or business right now, maybe that's perfect too. Maybe it's forcing you to develop powerful, intangible assets like emotional resilience, determination, and focus. Maybe you're being pointed in a new direction that will actually make you far more successful and happy. Whatever you may be perceiving as imperfection, start to see how it may actually be perfect for you.
The universe is perfect and knows your desires and knows where to put you and is actually placing you in a position that is primed and perfect for amazing things to happen. But if you're still stuck listening to the crazy person in your mind that wants you to keep looking at what's not right, you'll never see the perfection and you'll be absolutely miserable too. When it comes to the Law of Attraction, when you focus on what's right, you attract more of it. :)
So give this a try and let me know how it goes. It only takes a few minutes each day to dramatically change the way you think and feel.
